- Oct 01, 2019 Re: Dahlgren System 300 Z engraver opinion value??? Thanks why is the machine not worth much? I bet it cost thousands of dollars back over 20yrs ago.i bet it retailed for $5000 or more.it uses nice square linear bearings and not the junky round rails like many engraving machines.
- The Naval Sea Systems Command (SEA 03R1) directed the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), Code N95 to evaluate the commercial approaches and the NSEPS for compatibility against the electrical interface requirements specified in MIL-STD-1399, Section 300 and MEL-STD-2036.
I mean this strongly.
Pay for it only if you can use it. If you cannot use it it is worthless and I do not sell worthless stuff. How to install shaders for mac.

Roy will have the definitive answer, but I'll take a shot at your question.
The machine I ran didn't have an Artscrybe (AS) cartridge. Here's my 'take.'
The Artscrybe cartridge is a means of temporarily storing an image. Instead of 'burning' eprom chips, which then need to be inserted in a cartridge, you can load the AS cart from a floppy disk, or send art you've created on your computer to the AS cartridge.
Using the early Dahlgren systems as a comparison, although the machines didn't use font/logo cartridges, there were a number of 'resident' fonts installed on the machine's circuit board.
Additional fonts or logos were loaded with floppy discs and accessible through the computer's hard drive.
I think the AS cartridge gave the Newing-Hall similar functionality.

So I hopefully I should be able to send the image to the cartridge from the computer.
I was thinking of burning an eeprom which would require something that plugged into the computer to burn it.
Thanks for the reply!

I completely understand!
I will only pay if I can use it. It looks like I will be able to use it, just checking on how to program this cartridge.
Thanks again.

Scuse me for butting in but on the subject of ArtScrybe, it does it all for you.
first, create a drawing in cad and save as a .TXT file using the SB (save batch) command.
second, use ArtScrybe to convert a .TXT to a .F file.
third, when you run the EC program, go to 'load artscryb' and bingo!! the artscryb now becomes another font cartridge, you new logo will automatically be assigned a '1' unless you give it a specific character.
In the past, i have created my own font of designs, for example, 12 zodiac logos all in one file and each accessible by typing the characters A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,J,K OR L.

An owners manual would really help.
Dahlgren System 300 Manual System
Dad finally made it back to Texas. He constantly amazes me by being able to find things in that mess (he says mother & I just don't understand his organization method)! :S
Anyway, he was immediately able to put his hands on the promised manual. It's on the way via UPS Ground today.
